SLA 2002 Los Angeles Conference Update

The SLA 2002 Los Angeles conference is off to a great start. By now all of you should have received the C U IN LA postcard from headquarters promoting the 2002 conference and the promotional early discounted registration fee. Expectations are high for the LA conference, and everyone is sure we will exceed those expectations. I am currently on the SLA Conference Planning Committee and am seeing the topics being submitted for consideration for all the sessions. These topics are some of the best I've seen, and once the committee and conference planners confirm everything at the winter meeting in Chicago this January, I'll be able to share and give everyone a sneak preview of the programs. One of my responsibilities on this committee is that I am Conference Liaison for Los Angeles, so if you have any questions about the conference, please don't hesitate to contact me.

I serve also as Co-chair of the SLA/LA local arrangements committee. Working with headquarters and prior conference planning committee members, we have set up committees to cover our areas of responsibilities to ensure a successful conference. We had a very successful booth at the San Antonio conference promoting the Los Angeles Conference and area. We offer a special thank you to all Chapter members who staffed our booth at the San Antonio conference. We continue to need your support to make the conference successful and to ensure attendees have a great time and a great feeling about Los Angeles. These committees won't work WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT! We need volunteers for these committees.
