Panel/Dessert for SJSU Students Co-Sponsored by Southern California Chapter (SCC)

On Sunday, November 18, over 45 SJSU Library students and members of our local SLA chapter came together for an afternoon of networking as they enjoyed dessert and coffee at Cal State Fullerton’s Pollak Library. LISSTEN, the library student group on campus, and SCC-SLA were co-sponsors of a three- member-panel of SLA members who have worked in special, corporate, public and academic libraries. Laurel Crump moderated the panel, comprised of Pamela Cibbarelli, Elizabeth Housewright and Bally Karunasena, who brought a wealth of experiences to share with students. The panel discussed ideas about career options, job hunting techniques, and answered questions from the students. The SJSU students were very enthusiastic about the Panel/Dessert, and plans for further student-centered activities sponsored by SCC-SLA for spring 2002 are being discussed.
